I cropped this picture a little to much, but I hadn’t seen this bird before. I was down a the pond near our house when I saw this bird swooping down and catching a water bug and flying back up to a tree limb to eat it. 158/365.
Also called sensitive plant, sleepy plant, action plant, touch-me-not, or shameplant. It is often grown for its curiosity value: the sensitive compound leaves fold inward and droop when touched or shaken and re-open a few minutes later. 157/365.
While I was sitting on the porch waiting for Rufus to come to the feeder, I happened to look at the bird bath. The way I was sitting, this reflection looked really cool! 156/365.
